FAQs

  • Our celebrations will take place from Saturday 18th to Wednesday 22nd July, split into two parts:

    Part 1: Lisbon

We’ll kick things off in Lisbon with a relaxed pre-party on Saturday 18th July, a chance for everyone to meet, catch up, and celebrate together before heading to the countryside. The location of this pre-party will be announced nearer to the time, but expect it to be in Lisbon city center!

Sunday is free for you to explore the city or unwind at your own pace.

    Part 2: Quinta da Bichinha

From Monday onwards, the celebrations move to our wedding venue: Quinta da Bichinha (Estr. de Vila Chã, 2580-413), about one hour north of Lisbon.

Guests staying at the venue or nearbwill arrive on Monday 20th July for a casual evening get-together. Guests staying nearby can join us here also.

The main wedding day is on Tuesday 21st July, followed by a farewell breakfast on Wednesday morning for all those staying at the venue before checkout.

If you’re staying in Lisbon or nearby and just joining for the wedding day, you’re warmly invited to come out to the venue on Tuesday morning. We’ll be arranging transport back to Lisbon later that night after the celebrations.

If you are staying nearby, you must book and arrange your own transport. Taxi’s can be booked here.

  • Expect sunshine and warm temperatures, typically between 28–35°C during the day and slightly cooler evenings. We recommend sunscreen, sunglasses, and something light to cover up in the evening.

  • Lisbon is an incredible city to explore, from the cobbled streets of Alfama to the sunset views in Bairro Alto. Check out this page for everything; we recommend, including the best areas to stay.

  • 1) Stay at the Venue

There are limited rooms available at Quinta da Bichinha, which will be offered primarily to close family. If we’re able to offer you a room, we’ll contact you directly to confirm, in that case, we recommend staying at the venue itself for the most convenient experience.

    2) Stay Nearby

If you’d prefer to stay close to the venue, there are some lovely options in the surrounding countryside. We’ll include a few recommended hotels and guesthouses on the ‘Travel & Stay’ page.

If you choose this option, you’ll just need to arrange your own transport to and from the wedding (local taxis are available). Again, details will be on the ‘Travel & Stay’ page.

    3) Stay in Lisbon

We also recommend staying in Lisbon, especially for the first part of the trip and the Saturday pre-party.

On the wedding day (Tuesday), you can easily travel to the venue by Uber or taxi, which takes about one hour and costs roughly €50–€75 one way (feel free to share rides with other guests, we’ll help coordinate this closer to the time).

After the wedding, we’ll be running a private bus back to Lisbon around midnight, so everyone gets home safely after the celebrations.

  • If you’re staying at the venue:

You’ll need to arrange your own transport to and from Quinta da Bichinha. We recommend renting a car from Lisbon Airport or booking a private transfer both ways. The drive takes around one hour from Lisbon.

  • BBQ-Mixer | Monday, July 20: No Dress Code! Super casual.

    Wedding | Tuesday, July 21:

    “Summer Garden Party Elegance”

Think summer elegance; as if you’re headed to a relaxed garden party. The goal is to look effortlessly stylish, comfortable, and season-appropriate. Light, breathable fabrics and comfortable footwear are your best friends!

The ceremony and dinner will be outdoors (weather permitting), so expect it to be warm during the day and cooler as the evening sets in.

    For Everyone

    • Choose natural, breathable fabrics like linen, cotton, or light silk.

    • Opt for cheerful, summery colours, pastels, soft neutrals, or light prints.

    • Comfort is key: wear something you can move, sit, and dance in all day!

    For Men

    • Do wear: Linen shirts, cotton trousers, tailored shorts (if smart), or lightweight chinos. Loafers, espadrilles, or smart sneakers are perfect.

    • Avoid: Suits, ties, or anything too structured or formal. Skip blazers unless they’re ultra-light and unlined. No dark business wear or dress shoes that feel “office.”

    For Women

    • Do wear: Flowing summer dresses, jumpsuits, or co-ords; think effortless and elegant, not red-carpet formal. Sandals, wedges, or flat shoes are ideal for walking on grass.

    • Avoid: Formal gowns, fascinators, or anything overly traditional wedding attire. No stilettos or thin heels (they’ll sink into the lawn!).

    In Short

We’re aiming for smart casual with a touch of flair; picture a sunny afternoon in a vineyard or garden, with good food, great company, and everyone looking relaxed but polished.

  • Expect plenty of food! The main meal we will be a central charcuterie board running the length of the tables. Think your cheeses, meats and nibbles. Snacks will follow later on the in the evening.

We are offering an open bar across all days.

  • If you have any specific dietary requirements, please message Arran in advance, and you’ll be accommodated.

  • We are not expecting any gifts or monetary contributions. You being here with us is more than enough.

  • Feel free to reach out to us directly, we’re happy to help with any details, big or small!

Or, feel free to message Ally Rice (Arran’s mum!).
